Medical technicians (med-techs) have an important role in the medical profession. These healthcare professionals specialize in a particular field such as radiology, surgery, ultrasound, laboratory, dialysis, etc. The medical technician training made this people knowledgeable in performing diagnostic tests on various specimens (such as blood, sputum, urine, stool, peritoneal fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, pericardial fluid, synovial fluid, peritoneal fluid etc). Their medical technician training also honed them in handling emergency treatments, use sophisticated medical equipments and perform routine laboratory procedures such as CAT (computed axial tomography) scan and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), and prepare operating room environments and many more.
